You can help Spartanburg’s Pink on Main make masks for healthcare providers

Pink On Main, a Lilly Pulitzer store on West Main Street in downtown Spartanburg, is leading a volunteer effort to make masks for Spartanburg area healthcare providers who are on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.

Curtain making space at The Fabricsmith in Spartanburg has been converted to a workroom for measuring, cutting and sewing masks. About 100 masks have been produced to date.

“We’re doing what we can to keep everyone safe,” said Pink On Main Owner Amy Zimmer. “We’re not making medical grade masks, but we’re giving providers something that will cover their existing masks to prolong their use.

Zimmer has been communicating with area hospitals to determine their needs, she said.

Those wishing to support the effort can donate the following supplies:

  • White only pipe cleaners
  • Spools of 1/8” elastic
  • 100% cotton fabric

Supplies can be dropped off at Pink On Main, 115 West Main Street, Spartanburg SC 29306. Those wishing to donate supplies also can text the store at 864-515-0088.

Volunteers also are needed. “If you can cut, sew and measure, we can use you,” Zimmer said.
