Weekend Planner: Pickens Azalea Festival

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Pack up the family and head over to one of the most popular festivals in the upstate, The Pickens Azalea Festival.

We spoke with Azalea Festival President Tabitha Skipper and vendor Ashley Alderman with Birchwood Farms about what you can expect this Friday and Saturday.

“When the azaleas are blooming in Pickens, South Carolina the little town celebrates! For over 41 years friends and family come back home for one of the largest family reunions in the Southeast, the Pickens Azalea Festival. Join with us for our two day event each year on the last weekend in April. The weekend’s events begin with our annual cruise-in at 6 PM on Friday and continue Saturday as we welcome local artisan & crafters to the streets! Come join in the family fun and enjoy tastes from across the Southeast and musicians from across the nation. We can’t wait to see you there!”

There will everything from a Husband Calling competition,  pie baking contest,  Miss Azalea pageant, Pet pageant, and more! There are also plenty of things to do near Pickens if you are looking for excursions before or after the festival: The Doodle Trail, Table Rock, Hagood Mill, Pickens County Museum, and more.

Friday, April 25th: Cruise- In, 6pm, Main Street, Pickens

Saturday:  10am-10pm
