Take a tour of Upstate breweries on International Beer Day
Today is International Beer Day and we’re celebrating by recognizing a few of the many craft breweries that have opened across the Upstate.
According to the Brewers Association, craft brewers in the United States number 7,450 and our region has plenty of them to keep our taste buds entertained.
In addition to offering great local ales, brew pubs and trendy taprooms have served as a catalyst for downtown revitalization in many markets around the country, including downtowns, and midtowns, throughout the Upstate.
“We were a little ahead of our time,” said Mark Johnsen, founder and brewer at RJ Rockers in downtown Spartanburg. “It took a few years to get some traction, but I’m glad we’re here.”
