The story behind The Boys begins long before graduation walks at Clemson University or the move to Greenville. Founders Bryan Boykin and Garris Boykin grew up in Statesboro, Georgia, in a home where doors were always open, tables were always set, and people were always welcomed. Their parents, David and Beth, instilled in them the importance of fellowship, meaningful entertaining, and loving others well ,values that continue to shape everything they do today.

A Table That Was Meant to Be Used

In the Boykin household, China was never reserved for special occasions—it was meant to be used, loved, and shared. Nightly family dinners were filled with conversation, laughter, and connection, all centered around a thoughtfully set table. From the perfect cocktail napkin to porch décor and place settings, their mother taught them that intentional details are what turn a house into a home.

That philosophy lives on at The Boys. Every piece in the shop reflects the belief that entertaining should feel personal, joyful, and lived-in—not intimidating.

From Family Business to Dream Business

Growing up in a family-owned business taught Bryan and Garris the value of hard work, community, and genuine relationships. Those experiences shaped their desire to one day build something of their own. Bryan first launched Bry’s Surcees, discovering her love for creativity and meaningful connections, while Garris gained experience in retail and customer service, falling in love with the operational and relational side of small business.

With their combined backgrounds—and a whole lot of heart—The Boys was born. The boutique is a reflection of their core values: faith, family, community, and entertaining.
