Stone Soup Storytelling Festival In Woodruff This Weekend
If you love a good story you will love the The Stone Soup Storytelling Festival happening in Woodruff this weekend.
There will be lots of fantastic stories and even a chance for you to share your own!
There is an Amateur Hour where you get to present a 3-5 minute story of your own and a Liar’s Contest where the stories are believable except for one detail that couldn’t possibly be true.
New this year they are adding Cabaret! Late night comedy for a more mature audience over 21. It will be similar to the Liar’s Contest with a more mature subject matter.
Some other categories will include the Grand Opening featuring all of the tellers: Regi Carpenter, Jeff Doyle, Tony Marr, Sam Pearsall, and Kanute Rarey. Plus New Voices, 12 in all from all around the nation. Fantastic tellers that are new to the South Carolina stage.
Apply to tell in the New Voices category this year at the festival, with the potential to be selected as a Featured Teller for Stone Soup 2020. Four Featured Tellers have been selected from the New Voices category each year since the New Voices event was created in 2015.
You can go to the Stone Soup Storytelling Institute website stonesoupsc.org to learn more and check out the schedule of events for the weekend.
