Spinx takes its legendary Southern fried chicken on the road with The Cluk Truk

After 30 years in the chicken business, Spinx is taking its legendary Southern fried favorite to the streets with its new Cluk Truk.
“We got in the chicken business in 1990 and it continues to be a growing part of our business,” said Stewart Spinks, Founder and Chairman of The Spinx Company. “This has been a long-time dream in the making, and we believe that it will provide a unique way to introduce our legendary fried chicken to even more people across the Upstate.”
A family recipe from Spinks’ Aunt Pearl, fried chicken offerings at Spinx convenience stores include bone-in, tenders, gizzards, livers, party platters and family meals. The food truck will serve the same legendary chicken that is sold in Spinx stores across the Upstate.
“When I was young, I would love to go to Aunt Pearl’s for the summer and we’d have the greatest chicken and biscuits,” Spinks said. “The recipe is legendary, and I hear so much from our customers about how much they love our chicken. This truck is an extension of our brand and a billboard for one of our best offerings.”
Items featured on The Cluk Truk are:
- Chicken Tenders, original or spicy
- Buffalo Chicken Snack Wrap
- Chicken Tender Slider
- Chicken Tender Sandwich
- Cole Slaw

The Cluk Truk will hit the road four to five days each week visiting communities across the Upstate, Spinks said. It also will appear at area events and local breweries. Additionally, the truck will be available for bookings beginning this Fall.
