Spartanburg Soaring kite festival takes fun to new heights this weekend

Spartanburg, SC (WSPA-TV) – The skies in downtown Spartanburg will be filled with kites this weekend at the Chapman Cultural Center.
Spartanburg Soaring is set for Saturday, April 13 from 11-5 and CEO and President of Chapman Cultural Center Jennifer Evins said children will learn about different cultures and spend time outside.
Evins said families can fly kites to promote play and cultural curiosity.
Kidding Around Spartanburg, the Spartanburg Public library, Children’s Museum of the Upstate, and others will also be there with activities for families to learn more about what they do.
Hundreds of kites are expected as well as live music, makers market, food trucks and more.
Kites are available for purchase from Imagination Station, or you can bring a kite from home.
The festival is free and open to everyone.
