“Sincerely Daniel” Exhibit celebrates contributions of black Daniel High athletes
In partnership with the City of Clemson, “Sincerely, Daniel” celebrates the athletic and community contributions of black athletes from D.W. High School. Jaquail Durham got the idea during his PH.D studies at Clemson University. This exhibit located at the Clemson Area African-American Museum, features stories, memorabilia, and archival features across multiple sports. Durham says most of the pieces are authentic with only a couple items being replicated. Living Upstate spoke with Daniel High grads and Clemson standouts CJ Davidson and Javis Austin about the impact of this exhibit to the community.
“Welcome to Sincerely, Daniel—a captivating sports exhibition that honors the legacy of African American athletes from D.W. Daniel High School. This immersive experience delves into the community roots that shaped extraordinary individuals who excelled not only in their sports but also as pillars of their communities. Celebrating a heritage of athletic excellence, Sincerely, Daniel aims to ignite pride, inspire participation at all levels, and foster connections between local sports programs and supporters. With contributions from past and present professional athletes who share ties to D.W. Daniel, this exhibit aims to elevate Clemson’s vibrant sports culture while leaving a lasting impact on the community.”
