SC ranked 5th worst state for working moms

(WSPA) — A new report finds that South Carolina is among the worst for working mothers.

WalletHub compared states and the District of Columbia across 15 areas to identify the best and worst states for working mothers, including child care and professional opportunities. The study also looked at work-life balance.

South Carolina had among the lowest child-care costs. It’s also among the lowest for female to male executive ratio – only Idaho and Utah ranked lower – and ranked near the bottom for professional opportunities and work-life balance.

Georgia did slightly better than the Palmetto State. Georgia’s overall rank was 44, while North Carolina placed 25.

Vermont took the top spot as overall best for working moms.
