Rebuild Upstate to begin repairs on 100th home of 2019

Greenville, S.C. – On July 1, 2019 Rebuild Upstate will begin repairs on its 100th home of 2019. The Piedmont area home will be receiving extensive repairs including bathroom plumbing repairs, new HVAC, electrical repairs, new windows, and new water-resistant flooring.
Rebuild Upstate receives public and private funds to support home repairs. This home is a true example of collective impact in action. There is joy when a community comes together to make safer, healthier communities.
Supporter Anne Carpenter met Lillie Fuller (homeowner) when she was a caretaker for her late husband, Bill Carpenter. Anne says, “This is a special thing for a special person. She gave my husband love and care. I’m supporting home repair for Lillie to honor Bill’s memory. It means a lot to be involved.”
The organization recently surpassed another milestone. In March, the organization reached 900 homes repaired throughout the organization’s 13-year history. Rebuild Upstate expects to repair 178 homes this year.
“These accomplishments are a result of the community’s support, the passion of our volunteers, and the planning and execution of our amazing staff.” said Dayle Stewart, assistant director. “There is a tremendous need for home repairs in our area, and it is encouraging to be able to celebrate milestones that demonstrate Rebuild Upstate’s dedication to repairing more homes each year.”
