New in Spartanburg: The Pharmacy Coffee

“Sparkle City” continues to shine like the diamond that it is. Food & Wine recently penned an article declaring, “Something’s happening in Spartanburg.”
We agree. The city and surrounding areas have so much to proud of with a vibrant food and arts scene and new places opening on the regular. The latest addition to Spartanburg is Little River Roasting Company’s The Pharmacy Coffee.

“The Pharmacy Coffee”
Let’s start with the new spot for coffee! Did you know that Spartanburg’s Little River Roasting company roasts coffee right here in the Burg’? You have probably enjoyed their drinks at their hip location in downtown in the historic masonic temple. LRR recently opened their second location in the iconic Montgomery Building.
The resurrection of the 93 year old Montgomery Building is a project that everyone has been talking about. The building has been converted to apartment units, mixed-use space, and restaurants. “The Pharmacy” is the first of the food/beverage tenants in the building with Sidewall Pizza expected to enter the building later this year.

The Pharmacy Coffee
“The Pharmacy” located at the ground level of The Montgomery Building is a very cool hang. The light-airy vibe is filled with light from the street -facing windows, the light fixtures make you feel as if you are in a New York City village hot spot. The patterned floor throws it back to the 1920’s vibe of this Spartanburg icon.
The ultra-cool baristas are serving up light food and delicious drinks to caffeinate any palate. I must admit, I love anything with lavender in it. Therefore, I recommend a prescription of “The Beekeper.” Latte with coconut extract, lavender syrup and honey. Also of note was their “Everything Nice”cold brew featuring brown sugar, clove syrup and milk.
