Music, markets, melons on tap this weekend in the Upstate

If you’re into music, markets or melons, you’ll find plenty of it in the Upstate this weekend.
From tonight’s Beachin’ Fridays in Mauldin to tomorrow’s Melon Fest at Hagood Mill in Pickens, there’s a weekend full of fun planned across the Upstate and in western North Carolina. Here’s a sampling:
Beachin’ Fridays, Mauldin
Enjoy the final Beachin’ Fridays of the summer, featuring live music by Band of Oz from 7-10 p.m. at Mauldin Cultural Center. Food trucks will be on hand, including Bosco’s Baby’s Restaurant & Catering, One Eyed Donkey, Rambos Hotdogs, One Love Fusion Foods, The Noodle Lady and Nuttin Butt Chicken LLC. Admission is free.
Heritage Main Street Fridays, Greenville
Wind up the work week enjoying live music and dancing tonight at Greenville Heritage FCU Main Street Fridays presented by Pepsi. The weekly music series at NOMA Square, 220 N. Main Street in Greenville, runs from 5:30-9:30 p.m., with bands playing two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. NOMA Square chairs go fast, so bring a tailgating chair if you are not arriving early. Admission is free.
Sounds of Summer, Fountain Inn
Enjoy live music tonight, July 30, by Synergy Twins from 7-9:30 p.m. on Depot Street in Fountain Inn. The free weekly summer concert series continues through August. Here’s what’s coming up: August 6, Son Del Callao; August 1, Kami Ocean & the Rhythm; August 20: 20 Ride; August 27, The Night Affair Band.
Music on Main, Hendersonville NC
The Rewind House Band and a Classic Car Show headline tonight’s Music on Main in Hendersonville. Coordinated by the Carolina Mountain Car Club, the car show will display vintage and antique cars in front of the Visitor Center from Allen to Caswell Streets.
Music On Main is held every Friday evening through August 27 at the Visitors Center at 201 South Main Street in downtown Hendersonville, NC. Admission is free. Bring a chair and enjoy the music from 7-9 p.m. The seating area opens after 5 pm and early admission is prohibited. Alcoholic beverages, backpacks and coolers are prohibited. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed until 8 p.m.; if the weather does not improve by 8 p.m., the performance will be canceled.
Anderson County Farmers Market, Anderson
Find fresh, local produce, farm fresh eggs, local honey, fresh herbs, homemade baked goods, handcrafted soaps and lotions, handmade jewelry, fresh flowers and more at the Anderson County Farmers Market on Saturday, July 31, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Market at 402 N Murray Avenue is ADA accessible and covered so it’s open rain or shine. EBT & WIC accepted.
Hub City Farmers Market, Spartanburg
Visit the Upstate’s longest running farmers market for local produce, live music, mimosas, free kid’s activities and more. The market at Harvest Park, 398 Howard Street in Spartanburg, is open on Saturday, July 31, from 8 a.m. until Noon.
Simpsonville Farmers Market, Simpsonville
The Simpsonville Farmers Market will be open on Saturday, July 31, from 8 a.m. until Noon at Simpsonville City Park, 198 Park Drive, Simpsonville. You’ll find unique vendors such as Carolina Shoots & Shrooms offering edible flowers, seasonal gourmet mushrooms, early ginger and turmeric.
TD Saturday Market, Greenville
The TD Saturday Market presented by Prisma Health occurs every Saturday from May to October from 8 a.m. until Noon on Main Street in Greenville. The market features more than 75 vendors selling fresh seasonal produce and original, high quality crafts.
Melon Fest, Pickens
Historic Hagood Mill in Pickens will host Melon Fest on Saturday, July 31, from 11 am. until 7 p.m. Enjoy melon-themed activities and live music throughout the day. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 4-12, and free for 3 and under. Luke Deuce will kick off the live entertainment at Noon, followed by Luke Smith at 2, and Freddie Vanderford & Mill Billy Three at 4.
Hendersonville Block Party on Main, Hendersonville NC
Two of country music’s brightest young stars will showcase their music at Hendersonville’s Block Party on Main, Saturday, July 31. The free event features husband-and-wife Nashville recording artists Joe Lasher and Kaitlyn Baker and is part of The Down Home Series presented by Ingles.
