Manufacturing and distribution jobs the focus of virtual job fair on August 13

Jobs in manufacturing and distribution will be the focus of SC Work Greater Upstate’s next virtual job fair on Thursday, August 13, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
With traditional, in-person job fairs on hold due to social distancing, SC Works Greater Upstate held its first-ever Virtual Job Fair on May 7. More than 30 companies participated and over 900 job seekers pre-registered for the event. SC Works has held two additional virtual events focusing on professional and IT jobs, and retail and food service positions.
“After multiple successful events, we anticipate even more success with the Manufacturing and Distribution event,” said Johnnie-Lynn Crosby, Business Solutions Director at SC Works Greater Upstate. “There are so many jobs open and so many people seeking opportunities in these occupations. Based on initial feedback from candidates with production and warehouse experience, they are excited about the virtual format and look forward to connecting with so many local employers via the chat feature.”
SC Works Virtual Job Fairs allow real-time interaction between employers and job seekers via email or live chat. The platform includes features such as searchable job boards for candidates and resume databases for employers.
Job seekers are asked to pre-register for the event, following these steps:
- Create or update an account at www.scworks.org
- Create and account and register here
- Watch the job seekers tutorial video on the SC Works Facebook page
- Build a personal profile and attach an updated resume
Sitel Group, a global company with a flagship office in Spartanburg, has participated in all SC Works virtual job fairs. With more than 100 offices in 28 countries, Sitel presently is seeking to fill 10,000 jobs.
“The virtual job fairs are fabulous, very well done,” said Skip Phillips, Community Marketing Lead for Sitel Group. “SC Works reacted quickly and nimbly to create a successful online career fair model.
