TIPS
.Watch for fire ant hills and other biting insects, especially if its wet. Something about those fields seems to attract those pesky critters.
.Remind children to pick up pumpkins from the bottom and not the stem. Its easier to carve with a good stem still attached, and cracked or smashed fallen pumpkins really aren’t very much fun.
.Bring plenty of water, especially if you’re going to farm and plan to stay awhile. Fall in Greenville is often still pretty hot, and hunting for that perfect pumpkin might take awhile.
.Consider bringing a picnic. Lots of the farms listed have picnic facilities and that gives you a chance to relax and enjoy the day a bit longer.
