Local Girls Audition for Broadway’s “Waitress”

Dozens of Upstate girls dreaming of being a star on stage auditioned for a big role Wednesday at Gunter Theatre.
About a month before Broadway’s touring production of “Waitress” comes to Greenville, show directors held auditions for two local actresses to star in the Peace Center shows.
All seventy who showed up had to fit the only two requirements: they had to be between the ages of 4 and 5 years-old and shorter than 4’2.
“Waitress” tells the story of Jenna, a pie baker who works at a local diner, who is stuck in a loveless marriage but finds salvation in her daughter.
The role of that daughter, Lulu, is the one that’s up for grabs.
The two chosen local actresses will alternate shows.
Directors will announce casting decisions for Lulu within the next two or three weeks. “Waitress” is showing at the Peace Center May 8-13th. For more information, click here.
