Kayak and paddleboards now for rent in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — You can now “yak and snack” at Lake Cooley.

Spartanburg County Parks began renting kayaks and paddleboards Saturday at the Lake Cooley Outdoor Education Center.

There’s also a new snack shack with drinks and food.

Stand up paddleboards and kayaks can be rented $10 each for two hours at a time.

Specialty kayaks and paddleboards are available for $5 more.

The parks department launched the rental service after hearing from the community.

Equipment is available on a first-come, first served basis from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. The last rental is at 5 p.m.
