Hometown Spotlight: Melody for the Mind

Greenville, SC (WSPA) – Many people think of Euphoria as a food and music festival in downtown Greenville, but organizers say the event benefits the community in more ways than they likely know.

Some proceeds from the festival are given in the way of grants to non-profits that apply before the festival.

The Meyer Center for Special Children is just one of many organizations benefiting from grants awarded last year.

Euphoria is a meeting of food and music enthusiasts and events involving local and world known chefs in September.

Money from Euphoria funds Local Boys Do Good, an organization created to benefit local non-profit organizations.

The group aims to promote tourism in Greenville, to create a destination event for food, wine and music lovers across the country, to highlight the Upstate’s culinary and music arts community and raise money to benefit the community.

The Meyer Center uses the money for its music therapy program where children with disabilities learn cognitive and physical skills while participating in activities set to music.

You can still get tickets to Euphoria.

For nonprofits wishing to apply for a grant from the festival simply fill out the form at https://euphoriagvl.typeform.com/to/V5CD10.
