Hendersonville invites visitors ‘Home for the Holidays’

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – Hendersonville is inviting visitors to come “Home for the Holidays” with a jam-packed month of events.
“We have everything that you could imagine happening over the holidays here [in Hendersonville]. From things for kids to do to things for adults to do as well,” Hendersonville Welcome Center Asset and Event Development Coordinator Amy Boswell said.
Shops on Main Street are decorated. Large wreaths with red bows are hanging from streetlights, and a 35-foot Christmas tree is in front of the county courthouse. With carolers strolling the sidewalks, horse-drawn carriage rides, visits with Santa, holiday-themed performances, special shopping events, and more, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a holiday movie.

“One of our most popular things happening again, for the third year in a row, is our Peppermint Bear Scavenger Hunt,” Boswell said with a smile. “We have hidden cubs throughout downtown Hendersonville in the businesses, so you take your little passport with you and you head into a business. If you find the bear, they punch it for you and you get a prize. If you find at least 12 of the bears, you can turn it back in at the visitor’s center and you can be entered for a grand prize.”
Boswell added that adults can enjoy the scavenger hunt as well.
“We’ve heard that it is a great date night. It doesn’t have to be with the kids, it can be just you guys,” she said.
Amy said ‘A Flat Rock Playhouse Christmas’ is a must-do, and performances will go through Dec. 22. A Charlie Brown Christmas will be at Flat Rock Playhouse Dec. 1-4. Click here for ticket information.
