Helping Dogs and Cats!
Angel Cox from the Spartanburg Humane Society tells us how your donations help them and introduces you to Sophie! She is a sweet baby who needs a home.
Angel also let us know that donations are coming in to honor Journalist Aaron Smeltzer, killed when a tree fell on his news truck. Aaron was an animal lover. You can always donate money to the Humane Society in someone’s name. You can adopt a pet or you can even be an angel donor where you give money to help rehabilitate a pet.
Did you know that Spartanburg Humane Society has camps for kids? You need to check it out!
In 1964, a group of concerned citizens led by Mary Frances Grimes incorporated the Spartanburg Animal Welfare League (SAWL) to provide a humane method for managing the homeless animal population. Today, the vision of Mrs. Grimes and the original board of directors is reflected in the pivotal increase in the “live release” rate and the reduction in the length of stay for each animal.
The Spartanburg Humane Society is located at 150 Dexter Road in Spartanburg, SC.
