Greenville’s TD Essential Market extends 2020 season

TD Essential Market presented by Prisma Health will extend its regular season through November 21 and feature three Holiday Edition markets on November 28, December 5 and December 12.
The downtown Greenville market will continue in a modified format, offering fresh and local essential grocery items while still maintaining health and safety guidelines. Market hours for the regular season will remain the same from 8 a.m. – noon. Holiday Edition market hours are 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Each week, more than 30 vendors will be on site offering a variety of fresh foods and specialty items, including seasonal produce, artisan cheeses, certified organic meats, baked goods, handmade crafts and more. Participating vendors will include the 2020 TD Bank Bucks recipient winners Banana Manna, The Happy Berry and Split Creek Farm, along with sponsors Table 301 and Coffee Underground. The Holiday Edition market vendors will feature seasonal produce, specialty items (honey, fresh pressed juices, pasta/salsa), along with festive handmade crafts, holiday baskets and more.
“The 2020 market season has presented many unique challenges for our community and our vendors,” said Market Coordinator Cameron Campbell. “Through dedication, resiliency and innovation, our vendors have continued to positively impact our community, ensuring fresh local food is accessible to all. In an effort to extend gratitude and thanks to our community and our vendors, we’re excited to extend the market season.”
The entrances and exits for the market will be located on McBee Avenue. A limited number of shoppers will be allowed inside the market at a time for shopper safety. Attendees are asked to review the following guidelines before attending the market:
- Stay home if you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick
- Make a shopping list using the online list of participating vendors
- Wear a face covering for the safety of others
- Watch for physical cues such as tape, cones and signs to maintain social distance
- Shop with your eyes only; vendors will handle items
- Use a credit card or exact change when possible
The TD Essential Market welcomes the use of Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards and market shoppers who spend at least $5 on their EBT card will receive a free $10 token for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables. To use an EBT card at the market, shoppers can visit the market tent located at the intersection of Main Street and McBee Avenue.
