Great Anderson Fair & Blue Ridge Fest this weekend

(WSPA) — The Reedy River Duck Derby, Great Anderson Fair and Blue Ridge Fest are some of the fun events happening Friday and this weekend in our area.

Thousands of yellow rubber ducks will race down the Reedy River Saturday for the Reedy River Duck Derby. It’s happening from 10 am until 4 pm at Falls Park. They’ll have games, food and entertainment. The derby begins at 2:30 pm. You can still ‘adopt a duck’ online for $10. If your duck wins, you could receive $1 million or one year’s worth of groceries from Publix. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Funnel cake, amusement rides and games, The Great Anderson Fair is back. It started on May 3rd and lasts through May 13th. It’s held at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center. Weekday hours are from 4 pm to 11 pm, Saturdays from 11 am until 12 am or Sunday from 12:30 pm until 11:30 pm.

New this year, and only happening Saturday May 5th, a meet and greet with Paw Patrol characters. They also have a diving show, an exotic petting zoo, even a human cannon ball.

General admission is $7 but it’s free for kids under six.

Don’t miss Blue Ridge Fest  from 5:30 pm until 10 pm Friday in downtown Pickens.

It’s a classic car cruise in complete with great music, food and entertainment. The event benefits several local charities. You can get tickets at the gate. It costs $25 for adults, $15 for kids between 7 and 12 years old and free for anyone children younger than 6.
