Coldwell Banker Exclusive hosts April 23 fishing tournament for Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries
Area anglers can fish for a cause on April 23 when Coldwell Banker Exclusive Realty & Management hosts its 2nd Annual Bass Fishing Tournament at Lake Hartwell benefiting Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministries.
“Bass fishing goes back to my roots when I was a kid and I thought this would be a great way to do something that I enjoy, but also do community outreach,” said Trent Smith, co-owner of Coldwell Banker Exclusive Realty & Management.
The real estate firm’s first fishing tournament drew 105 boats and raised $15,000 for Connie Maxwell, a residential care facility in Greenwood, SC. The company also collected and delivered a 24-foot box truck full of donated items ranging from paper goods and cases of water to laundry detergent and bed linens.
The entry fee for the tournament is $10 per person entry fee, plus an additional donation of goods or dollars to Connie Maxwell. The payout for the tournament is $2,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third.
Boats will launch at safe light on Saturday, April 23, from Broyles Landing at Lake Hartwell, located off Highway 24 in Anderson County.
Weigh-in will be held at 3 p.m., with complimentary burgers and hotdogs available to participants at that time.
For more information or to pre-register for the fishing tournament, contact Rusty Nickles at (864) 554-9267. Pre-registration is not required.
Those who are unable to participate in the tournament but wish to donate items for Connie Maxwell Children’s Home can drop them off at Coldwell Banker Exclusive Realty & Management, 1008 North Main Street, Anderson SC 29621.
