City of Anderson to offer free flu shots, COVID-19 testing this Saturday

The City of Anderson is continuing its campaign to help slow the spread of COVID-19 with an event tomorrow at Westside Community Center.
From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, area residents can receive free flu shots and COVID-19 testing. Residents also can complete their census forms during the event as part of #SCCounts 2020 Day of Action.
“The City of Anderson is proud to partner with state agencies to bring this event to our community,” said Beth Batson, on behalf of the City of Anderson. “It is an extension of our Anderson Strong Promise campaign to keep our citizens safe…and in this case counted. We are grateful to our friends at the Westside Community Center for providing the perfect venue to extend our outreach to neighborhoods.”
The City of Anderson kicked off its awareness campaign called Anderson Strong Promise in July. Since then, the City has hosted several pop-up and neighborhood events where free masks, t-shirts and educational materials have been distributed.
Whether dining in a restaurant around town or grocery shopping, the City hopes residents will join together in making a promise to form a stronger and healthier community.
