Carolina Garden World hosts 5th Annual Sustainability Day this Saturday, April 20

Annuals or perennials? Are native plants better than non-native? What kind of fertilizer is best for Upstate yards and gardens?
You’ll find the answers to these and many other questions during Carolina Garden World’s 5th Annual Sustainability Day to be held this Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
Held each year in celebration of Earth Day, Sustainability Day features vendors, seminars, door prizes and free samples—all designed to encourage environmentally-friendly products and practices, according to Carolina Garden World Owner Tina Clark.
“My goal in starting Sustainability Day was to offer a free event to raise the awareness of environmentally-friendly, sustainable practices and to demonstrate how easy they are,” Clark said.
From herbs and native plants to fertilizers and earthworm castings, Sustainability Day attendees will learn lawn and garden best practices and receive information on topics such as how to effectively deal with invasive plants such as Kudzu. The Spartanburg Beekeepers Association will even be on hand with its popular demonstration hive and instructions on how to set up your own hive.
Sustainability Day sponsors include Espoma Organic, Botanical Interest, BFG Supply, BWI Companies and Milorganite Fertilizer.
