Boo in the Zoo coming this weekend to Greenville Zoo

Boo in the Zoo, the Greenville Zoo’s signature Halloween event, takes place this weekend, October 18-20, and October 25-27.

Presented by Prisma Health, Boo in the Zoo features 20 trick-or-treat stations, character photo opportunities, an extinct species graveyard, Dragon Alley and Alice’s Fun House. The event will also feature wildlife-friendly Halloween candy from companies that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.

Children must be accompanied by an adult and everyone is invited – but not required – to come in costume. For safety reasons, attendees are asked not to bring plastic pumpkins, Halloween bags or sacks. The zoo will provide special commemorative trick-or-treat bags.

Hours and Admission

Boo in the Zoo hours are 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is free for adults (age 15+) who are members of the zoo and $6 for non-member adults. The cost for member Trick-or-Treaters is $8 and $9 for non-member Trick-or-Treaters. Admission for Boo Babies (age 0-2) is free.

Tickets can be purchased at the Greenville Zoo ticket booth, including the night of the event, or online. Tickets purchased in advance are valid for any night of the event. Advance ticket buyers are asked to also order their free Member Adult and/or Boo Baby tickets when purchasing tickets to simplify the admission process upon arrival at the event.

Greenlink will provide free park-and-ride service to transport attendees from Greenville County Square to the Greenville Zoo and back, with three trolleys running continuously between the two locations from 15 minutes before the event begins until 30 minutes after the event ends each night. Parking at the zoo is limited, so attendees are encouraged to utilize the free shuttle service. Vehicular traffic will not be allowed to enter Cleveland Park from Ridgeland Drive or McDaniel Avenue and all traffic must exit onto East Washington Street, which will be right turn only.

To allow time to set up for Boo in the Zoo, the zoo will stop selling admission tickets at 2:45 p.m. and will close at 3:30 p.m. on October 18 and 25 and will suspend selling admission tickets at 1:15 p.m. and close at 2 p.m. on October 19, 20, 26 and 27.
