Anderson Sings virtual sing off kicks off today

From covers of Beyoncé and Conan Gray to the original music of The Strongboys and David Rodriguez & The Latin Caravan, Anderson Sings offers something for every taste in music.
The virtual sing off benefiting the United Way of Anderson kicks off today with more than 30 singers and musicians signed on to compete for a price package that includes $1,000 cash, performances at Celebrate Anderson 2021 and on WSPA’s Your Carolina show, and the chance to record a track at the legendary Capricorn Studios in Macon, GA.
Presented by The Peoples Bank, Anderson Sings is a single elimination bracketed tournament. The winner of each round is determined by the number of votes received in the United Way Anderson Sings online fundraiser. Each $1 contributed counts as one vote, with proceeds going to address the ongoing needs brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, according to Carol Burdette, executive director of United Way on Anderson County.
“When COVID started, we jumped right in to help people with basic needs,” Burdette said. “But we know that with COVID, there are going to be continuing needs so, on top of our annual campaign, we decided we needed to do something innovative and that’s where Anderson Sings come in.”
The winner of Anderson Sings will be the artist that receives the highest number of online votes, thereby raising the most money for United Way of Anderson County. Members of the public will be able to cast their votes and make their donations online on the Anderson Sings Facebook page.
